Problem: IBM HR internal employee “Your Career and “Your Learning” portals have no Notification feature.

IBM HR aims to enhance its internal employee "Your Career" notification feature to provide personalized and timely updates to employees regarding career development opportunities within the company. This enhancement focuses on improving user experience (UX) and incorporating a design system to ensure consistency and scalability across platforms.


User Persona:

Lou, a mid-level software engineer at IBM, is ambitious and actively seeks opportunities for career growth within the company. He requires personalized notifications that align with his career aspirations and preferences.


User Flow:

1. Notification Subscription:

   - Lou accesses the "Your Career" section within the IBM HR portal.

   - He opts to subscribe to notifications related to career development opportunities, promotions, skill-building workshops, and mentorship programs.


2. Personalized Preferences:

   - Lou specifies her his interests, such as leadership roles, technical advancements, or cross-functional projects.

   - He selects his preferred notification frequency and delivery channels, including email, mobile app push notifications, and in-platform alerts.


3. Notification Delivery:

   - When new career opportunities aligning with Lou’s preferences become available within IBM, the system triggers personalized notifications.

   - Lou receives notifications tailored to his career goals, indicating job openings, training programs, or networking events relevant to his interests. His manager can also share training and set up notifications for 1 on 1 and review touch points.


4. Actionable Content:

   - Each notification provides clear, concise information about the opportunity, including role details, required skills, and application deadlines.

Each notification is color coded to display status.

   - Lou can directly interact with notifications on a notification page, where he can review further details, express interest, or apply for relevant positions.
