Pfizer - Simponi & Remicade

Pfizer | Simponi & Remicade
Designed and led the UX for Pfizer’s Simponi and Remicade patient delivery and support systems, including a customer sign-up portal, with a focus on guiding patients through complex specialty medication experiences.
Role
Senior UX Lead, Information Architect & Interaction Designer | Focus: Portal redesign, Information Architect, User Experience expert
Problem
Patients prescribed Simponi or Remicade faced a complicated and high-stakes journey involving specialty medication delivery, enrollment, and ongoing support. Existing digital experiences lacked clear pathways, making it difficult for users to sign up, understand next steps, and manage their treatment logistics with confidence.

Approach
I inherited this project after the unexpected departure of the Information Architect. With no UX person assigned, I conducted a deep dive into the existing work—reviewing the site map and outstanding deliverables—to determine exactly where the project had been left. Working closely with a new project manager, I developed detailed user personas to capture the needs of patients navigating specialty biologics, then designed the information architecture, site maps, and wireframes for the customer sign-up portal and related delivery system flows. The work required careful handling of sensitive health information, regulatory constraints, and multi-step enrollment processes while maintaining clarity and empathy throughout the experience.
Outcome
The redesigned portal and delivery system experiences provided patients with a clearer, more guided path to enrollment and medication support—reducing confusion in a highly complex specialty-care journey and supporting better engagement with Pfizer’s patient programs.
